The project opens the house towards the garden, bringing light, depth and calm into the main living areas through a restrained architectural language. Rather than relying on expressive gestures, the design works through proportion, material clarity and the careful framing of space and views. At the heart of the project, a generous living room is shaped by large openings, a warm timber ceiling and a sequence of thickened thresholds that give the interior both presence and softness. The structure is deliberately legible: timber beams and black steel elements establish a measured rhythm, while white walls, oak surfaces and stone details create a quiet and tactile atmosphere. The result is an interior that feels at once spacious, grounded and intimate. On the exterior, the intervention combines a solid mineral base with a lighter upper volume, reinforcing the dialogue between permanence and openness. Large windows and sliding glazed doors extend the domestic landscape outward, turning the surrounding trees and seasonal light into an active part of the house. w/ Ana Petra Moriyón production: Fast &amp; Furious Officephoto: Knu Kim Tetuan's neighbourhood involves a social and architectural heterogeneity typical of a district dealing with a transformation due to its condition of 'downtown suburb'. It's urban tissue is packed with unused first floor spaces, some of them involved in a transformation of their own. Usually the main characteristic of these architectures is their impressive pillars-and-beams concrete structure, as in the case of 'casa escenario', previously used as an architecture studio. The process of transformation into a home aims to strip the structure naked and to connect the light of both facades in order to link the street, on one side, with the patio on the other. The soft and material nature achieved, along with the mirrors placed on the inner sides of the windows, multiply the brightness inside. The strategy of an open and clear space allow for the house to be a scenario where to combine, in a versatile manner, work, leisure, the personal and the potential. Tha bathroom, for instance, opens both to the bedroom and to a mutant space that can do the job for remote working, work as a second bedroom or even as an appendix of the dance or meeting floor. prado Creatio Obras y Rehabilitaciones S.L.photo: Amores Pictures photo: Jorge Borondo The existing house was a 1960s construction with an interesting architecural identity; halfway between an organic rationalism and a classic countryhouse style. The project was inspired by the predominant aesthetics regarding diagonal and fluid views and natural materials. The materials used, amongst others, were local granite and certified wood from sustainable managed local forests, clay pieces from past demolitions and recycled brass strips from local warehouses. Several cement plant pots were made with the sacs left on site using a plastic blanket as the inner layer of the formwork to achieve an elephant-like appearance. Its main business runs online, therefore, its physical shop is driven towards promoting values and culture regarding wellness through meetings and self-care sessions. Hence the importance of a&nbsp;diaphanous central space. It was mandatory to connect the exterior and the street from the inside of the shop in order to involve and relate both with the identity and the existing dynamics of the public space. The space is a rectangular volume between walls with its wide front facade facing the street. The welcoming foyer hosts three buried potted plants and a diagonal set of metallic doors. The opening was built as spacious as possible to allow the maximum amount of light in, and the actual facade was set back by 4 meters, to create a hall halfway between the street and the shop; interior urbanism. 3 - The design focused on common materiality and a subtle tension between volumes. Each bathroom hosts a countertop built in iron, brick and plaster, with a limestone sheet over them and recycled brass finishings. They are designed according to size and usage. Several mobile birch drawers were designed and built to allow a versatile and clean storage. Obras y Rehabilitaciones S.L. photo: Amores Pictures The project, located in the Arganzuela district of Madrid, is the renovation of Jaime´s small and haggard apartment, compartmentalized in narrow rooms, with high ceilings, thin partitions and even thinner windows.Permanent collaboration with Jaime and the ideas considered throughout the shared creative process allowed for a productive discussion on how to articulate a single domestic room without any partitions. The main goal was to achieve a natural and fluid movement around agreed or spontaneous landmarks, originating from the speed that comes from the relations between the body and the space, rather than from the imposition of walls and doors. Every partition was therefore demolished, and once the original conditions were reinforced and isolated, we decided to host a central volume standing at barely two and a half meters high. The project aimed for a parlour acting as a second hall, therefore it cleared the dividing walls and left the main loading wall in the middle of the room. w/ Ana Petra Moriyón production: Fast &amp; Furious Officephoto: Knu Kim Tetuan's neighbourhood involves a social and architectural heterogeneity typical of a district dealing with a transformation due to its condition of 'downtown suburb'. It's urban tissue is packed with unused first floor spaces, some of them involved in a transformation of their own. Usually the main characteristic of these architectures is their impressive pillars-and-beams concrete structure, as in the case of 'casa escenario', previously used as an architecture studio. The process of transformation into a home aims to strip the structure naked and to connect the light of both facades in order to link the street, on one side, with the patio on the other. The soft and material nature achieved, along with the mirrors placed on the inner sides of the windows, multiply the brightness inside. The strategy of an open and clear space allow for the house to be a scenario where to combine, in a versatile manner, work, leisure, the personal and the potential. Tha bathroom, for instance, opens both to the bedroom and to a mutant space that can do the job for remote working, work as a second bedroom or even as an appendix of the dance or meeting floor.
